The 29th IPSA World Congress will honor the memory of Leonardo Morlino, IPSA Past President (2009-2012) and a pioneering scholar whose work on democracy and democratization has had a profound impact on political science.

He was also Emeritus Professor of Political Science and former Deputy Rector for Research at Luiss. Prof. Morlino passed away in June 2025, shortly before the opening of the 28th IPSA World Congress in Seoul.
