The closure of the Hormuz Strait has shown the fragility and fragmentation of Eurasian linkages. Where the flow of goods indubitably represents the cornerstone of political and economic stable relations between the two regions, it is but one of the multidimensional vectors through which the two are connected.
The purpose of this panel is to show empirical evidence and case studies of how that unfold. In particular, it seeks contributions from, but not exclusively, the following topics:
- Bilateral, minilateral, multilateral forms of security engagement;
- Securitisation of international supply chain;
- Diplomatic and political ties;
- Commercial and trade flows;
- Technological and cybersecurity developments;
While not the main focus of this panel, theoretical contributions are also welcomed.
Beyond research, this panel is committed to foster connectivity among young researchers and practitioners. In fact, the ideal candidate is a recent master graduate’s student who is currently applying for doctoral courses, PhD students at their first or second year, junior and early researchers who are yet to attend their first international conferences.
